FFA Members Vie for Selection to Compete in 2023 National FFA Agricultural Proficiency Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023) – More than 20 agricultural teachers and college professors from throughout the U.S. recently met virtually to determine what FFA members and teams will compete for top honors in the 2023 National FFA Agriscience Fair.

Brant Failes of the Cherokee FFA chapter, has been named a national finalist this year for the Diversified Agricultural Production Agricultural Proficiency Award.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management. Proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels and provide
recognition to members exploring and becoming established in agricultural career pathways.

This award is supported by Merck Animal Health, Elanco Animal Health, Tractor Supply Company, and Zoetis.
