Cherokee Public Schools will suspend virtual learning today and tomorrow due to the power outages & uncertainty of this situation. We will make a decision on returning to school on Thursday, sometime Wednesday afternoon/evening. The power outages & potential for more snow tonight will play a major part in this decision. Due to the extremely cold temperatures and possibility of more snow on Tuesday. Cherokee Schools will be in virtual/remote learning Tuesday and Wednesday. Career tech bus will not run either of these days. Offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, administrators and teachers will be available through school email. All activities for this upcoming week, including attending church and SOS today through the elementary petting zoo on Friday will be postponed as a whole. STAY WARM and BE CAREFUL!!!

In an effort to prepare for the next few days and the upcoming weekend here is the plan for Cherokee Schools.
Thursday February 11th - Regular school and start times.
Friday February 12th - Virtual/Remote Learning day.
Monday February 15th - No School - Presidents Day. (Not a virtual day)
Tuesday February 16th - Back to school pending weather and road conditions.
We will provide meals for Friday - Monday for all Cherokee Students that wish to receive them. Orders will be taken until 1pm on Thursday. Meals will be sent home with students at the end of the day on Thursday February 11th. If your child walks home and you order meals please make arrangements for them to be picked up this day. The link to the meal order form can be found below. Devices will also be sent home with students Thursday for the virtual day on Friday.

Elementary school reminder!
Cherokee Schools will be in school today and begin at normal times.
All buses will run their normal route schedules.
Highways are still in good shape, city streets have a few slick spots but overall are clear. Areas around our facilities have been treated again to keep sidewalks and parking lots clear.
As always, please be cautious and safe while driving.

Weekly Activities!
Cherokee Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 9th. This will be a snow day. If additional days are necessary to be out of school this week they will be virtual days. Devices were sent home today with Elementary students in case this is needed, all 5th - 12th students should have devices with them also. Updates will be given as needed tomorrow.

Cherokee Schools will start classes at 10am today. There will not be any Career tech classes in Alva this morning. Roads are slick so please take extra time and be cautious as you bring students to school.

The HS Boys Basketball game scheduled for Monday at Burlington has been cancelled.
The 5/6 & JH basketball bus will be in Cherokee around 7pm.
