There will be a parent meeting for all students 5th -12th wanting to run cross country July 28 at 6:00pm in the HS Gym.
Incoming 7th grade students and families:
Before seventh grade students can attend school in August, they must provide completed proof of Tdap Immunization.
Oklahoma School Immunization laws require all students entering the seventh grade to have received one dose of Tdap vaccine. Tdap is a vaccine used to boost immunity to pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus and diphtheria. A dose of Tdap is recommended for all adolescents beginning at age 11 because protection provided by the Dtap shots they received as babies wears off after 5-10 years.
Incoming 7th grade parents should have received a letter from the school with more details, but we wanted to remind you of this requirement today so you can begin to make an appointment or arrangements this summer.

OSSAA SUMMERTIME DEAD PERIOD
This summer's Dead Week Period Dates: July 2nd, 2022 - July 10th. 2022
The dead period will occur during the week in July that includes the 4th of July each year.
The dead period will be 9 days in length and begin the weekend preceding the 4th of July and end the weekend following or including the 4th of July.
Secondary-level students enrolled or pre -enrolled students at a member school may not use any member school’s athletic facilities during the dead period in connection with any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA.
Member school coaches, assistant coaches, and sponsors may not have any contact with secondary-level enrolled or pre-enrolled students in that member school in any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA for the purpose of coaching, training or instructing.
Attention all 7th-12th softball players & parents: Come & meet Coach Cawlfield this Friday evening at 5pm in the HS cafeteria. Coach Cawlfield will be here to meet the players & parents to talk a little about his plans for our softball program.

7th - 12th Grade Girls for 2022-2023: Are you interested in being a part of the Miss Cherokee, Miss CHS, or the Miss Cherokee Junior High pageants? If you have not yet contacted the pageant director, Mrs. Lacy Hoggard, please reach out to her at misscherokeepageant@gmail.com or at 580-596-3337. There is still time to be a part of the pageants.
The High School Gym will be closed for maintenance June 7 & 8.

Enrollment for Cherokee's summer program "Chief Explorers" is now open. This program is going to be so much FUN! There will be weekly themes and field trips and there may even be some wild animals!! The program will be available for students entering 1st-6th grade for the upcoming school year. The program will be held Monday-Thursday from June 6th-30th. Students will be dropped off at 8:00 am and picked up at 12:00 pm from the HS cafeteria. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily. Summer Meals Update:
Meals are available for anyone 18 years old or younger who live in Cherokee or attend Cherokee Public Schools. Breakfast will be available from 7:45am to 8:30am and lunch will be available from 11:30am to 12:30pm, Monday thru Thursday. Meals will be provided in the High School Cafeteria starting on May 23rd thru June 30th. Meals will be provided at no cost and must be eaten at the cafeteria. Menus are attached.
